COVID-19 April Update

Apr 30, 2020

As we continue to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, navigate through this uncertain and rapidly changing time, and in response to the latest recommendation from the State and local agencies, we are extending the suspension of all elective or non-emergent procedures through Sunday, May 17, 2020. However, this date is subject to change given the fluidity of the current situation.

The Massachusetts Dental Society has defined elective or non-emergent procedures as “All orthodontic procedures (including aligner therapy) that do not address infection, restore oral function or relieve pain.” Further emergent procedures are defined as “Orthodontics limited to trauma and trauma related to orthodontic appliance (wire, bracket)”. In accordance with these revised guidelines, if you have an appointment scheduled between Monday April 27, 2020 and Sunday, May 17, 2020, we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.

Our doctors are reviewing each patient’s treatment status as appointments are rescheduled to minimize the impact this delay will have on your overall treatment time.

If you have a need for an emergent procedure during this time, such as pain, injury or trauma related to an orthodontic appliance, we will be available for emergency appointments. Please call our office so we may determine the best course of action for your specific situation.

We will continue to monitor the rapidly developing situation and we will provide updates as necessary on the steps we are taking to address the guidance, developments and recommendations from local, state and federal agencies. We invite you to visit our website www.southeastortho.com for COVID-19 updates.

We look forward to seeing you back in our office soon.

Sincerely,

Brian R. Gaudreault, DMD

The Patient Experience

A doctor with a long-standing reputation of excellence instills confidence, as does a wall full of certifications and accolades. But does this doctor make you feel at ease? Does their staff greet you with a smile? Do they crack a joke to let you know they’re human too?
